Seafront and beaches
Barcelona treats its five kilometres of waterfront as public parkland, and it is the busiest green space of them all.
The promenade
A continuous flat run from Port Vell to the Fòrum, in use by walkers, runners and cyclists from first light to last.
The Fòrum esplanade
A vast open platform of stone and water at the northern end: odd, windy and unexpectedly good for a walk with a view.
Green on the sand
Grassed dunes, palm groves, play areas and outdoor gym equipment line the beach, so it works as a park even without a towel.
